so how 'bout giving us a "setting up Postfix" cookbook, Doc? --Jimbo 22:42, 2 October 2007 (EDT)

[edit] Up for the challenge

No problem Jimbo - I have built myself an Intel quad core system for the purpose of hosting my FreeBSD systems in VM so I'll quite happily create a guide for Postfix while building my systems. From what I've seen though, I thought you guys were "qmail with everything" people ;-)

I was also considering guides for Dovecot, which I also use, and some "real-world" working examples of setting up various RAID levels using a pile of four 40GB drives I have spare. --Doctor Modiford

[edit] just because...

... I use Qmail for everything doesn't mean I wouldn't be interested in guides for other stuff. =)

Who knows, one of you damn Exim or Postfix heathens might even convert me. --Jimbo 13:21, 3 October 2007 (EDT)

[edit] oh yeah and dovecot

a setup guide for dovecot would be great too. there's sort of one buried in the "mail toaster" article but it (obviously) never got much love on its own even though it's the IMAP/POP3 server I always use.

the thing that really pisses me off about Dovecot though is EVERY LITTLE DAMN INCREMENTAL RELEASE breaks the config files for the last release. That gets old fast. --Jimbo 13:23, 3 October 2007 (EDT)

[edit] Postfix setup guides
