Configuration steps for enabling Linux compatibility, necessary for using Flash Player made for Linux. Work in progress, steps:

For custom, non-specific linux package and up to date setups, we may be able to do without the following packages: linux_base-f10, linux_base-c6, or linux_base-gentoo-stage3

/etc/

/etc/fstab

linproc /compat/linux/proc linprocfs rw 0 0
#possibly the two below
fdesc /dev/fd fdescfs rw 0 0
proc /proc procfs rw 0 0

/etc/rc.conf

linux_enable="YES"

/etc/devfs.conf

link /tmp shm

/compat/linux/

/compat/linux/ should have at least the following sub-directories: etc/ lib/ proc/ usr/

% cd /compat/linux/
% mkdir etc/ lib/ proc/ usr/

/compat/linux/etc/yp.conf

domainname	mydomain.com # this is your network's domain-name without localhost
ypserver	localhost # my.yp.server

/compat/linux/etc/nsswitch.conf

passwd: files nis
shadow: files nis
group: files nis
